Born and raised in Somerville, John Gkolias has been a steward of the Transfiguration Parish for more than 40 years. Twelve years ago, John and his wife, Irene, the parents of four children lost their son and in his memory John decided to donate his services to the Parish. He is on duty at the Pangari not only on Sundays but also during all week services. He is the maintenance man for the parish, responsible for the building's upkeep. More Award Recipients
