Pan-Macedonian Association, Inc. Sends Letter of Support to Archbishop Demetrios February 9, 2004 His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios New York, New York Your Eminence: With great pain in our souls we were informed by the American and Greek-American press of the slanderous law suit against you and our Holy Greek Orthodox Church by several of our brothers and sisters in Christ, members of your flock, filed in the civil courts of New York state. The pain is even greater because, as it appears, the aforementioned brothers and sisters do not have "ears that hear" and as a result they have not yet heard the message of love, reconciliation, affection, goodness, tenderness, understanding, tolerance, serenity, patience and infinite adoration, as well as the wisdom of word and deed that have characterized your blessed service (diaconia) since the first day that the All-Virtuous God entrusted you with the holy cross of our Archdiocese. As is fitting to Macedonians, who over the millennia have sought to unite rather than divide, and on behalf of all members of the Pan-Macedonian Association, an organization that you have blessed by agreeing to be its Honorary President, the undersigned humble servants of God stand by your side in your support and in support of our Church, with all the strength and vigor of body and soul that we command. We pray on our knees to the Highest that He may dissolve the clouds of confusion that have covered the clear thinking of our brothers and sisters, that He may sooth the pain of their souls that is certain that they have, and that He may light the path that leads to the open arms of all of us that are awaiting their return to the road of moderation and humbleness. It is an unfortunate fact that included among the many wonderful genes possessed by our people are the genes of "you will not persuade me even if you persuade me". Despite that, we are confident that you have already forgiven our brothers and sisters "...for they do not know what they are doing...", and that you are praying along with your Macedonian children that God's peace from above may soon calm the turbulent souls of all of us. With infinite respect and love in Christ we remain,
