Katherine Pappas, 
Past National Philoptochos President,
Passes Away After Long, Distinguished
Service to Orthodox Church


Mrs. Katherine Pappas, Honorary Past President of the National Philoptochos Society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, passed away on May 12 in Boston, MA. Under her leadership, from 1974-82, as the fourth president of the National Philoptochos, the philanthropic auxiliary of the Archdiocese, the organization flourished and expanded its philanthropic endeavors.

Archbishop Demetrios of America, in offering his condolences upon hearing of the passing of Katherine Pappas said: “As we bid farewell to this beautiful woman of grace and kindness, we recall her dedicated service to her family, her Church, to those in need, and to the vision and purpose of the Philoptochos Society. We pray for the repose of her soul and memory eternal.”

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, will preside at the funeral service of Mrs. Pappas on Thursday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Cathedral, Boston, MA.
