Manny A. Rallis Passes Away

Westerville, Ohio--Many A. Rallis, 87, passed away suddenly in Westerville, Ohio on Dec. 20, 2005.

He was born in Haverhill, MA, on April 12, 1918, the son of Antony and Parthenopy Tetamany Rallis. He was educated in Haverhill, Mass., and Auburn schools, and graduated form Deering High School, Class of 1936.

He was a Navy veteran, having served his country during World War II.

Manny was a member of Hiram Lodge, AF&AM Masons, and a member of the Kora Shrine Temple in Lewiston.

For many years he and his twin brother Teddy owned and operated Martha's Donut & Coffee Shop, a popular establishment on Route One in Scarborough, Maine. Their rare sense of humor often found them being interviewed, and had their own chapter n "Dave's People," written by Dave Silverbrand.

He was predeceased by his parents; his twin brother, Teddy; sister-in-law, Jennie; and a sister, Olympia, of Revere, Mass.

He is survived by two nieces, Charlene Rallis Goranites and her husband Duke of North Bridgton, Maine, and Cleo Harris Bailey and her husband Noel of Wakefield, Mass., and four great-nieces, Eleni, Angela, Alexis and Alaina.

Visitation will be at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, with the Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Portland, Maine at 133 Pleasant Street. Internment at Forest City Cemetery at a later date.
