Chicago Premiere of the Award-winning Play "The Bed" to Benefit the Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center

"The Bed", a critically acclaimed and award-winning play by Chicago native son N?kos Vlachos, makes its Chicago premiere January 25 though February 25, 2007 at the Victory Gardens Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Avenue, with a special performace on Saturday, January 20, 2007 to benefit the Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center. The evening includes dinner at Bordo’s, 2476 N. Lincoln Avenue, followed by the performance and a stage party.

A romantic journey of passion, pathos and serenity, "The Bed" chronicles the marriage between Joe and Sara Isaia. The story begins in 1983, on their wedding night, in a

New York apartment, and continues through childbirth, accomplishments and disappointments, disharmony and separation, compromise and reconciliation, to the year 2045. It is a modern-day fable not so much of making decisions but of decisions made right.

Directed by Sandra Zielinski, "The Bed’s" stellar cast stars Andy Luther as Joe and Madelon Guinazzo as Sara, with William Jason Raynovich as the Cellist. The creative team includes set designer John Stark, lighting designer Julie Mack, videographer Eric Gelehrter, and costume designer Lauren Lowell.

Regular tickets range in price from $35 to $45, but start at $45 for the benefit evening. Discounts are available throughout the run of production for students, seniors, Victory Gardens’ subscribers, members of the Hellenic Museum, and groups of 10 or more.
