ABOUT THE SPEAKER




Mr. Papoutsy began his career and company in electronics at Hollis Automation in a garage with four employees. Under his leadership, Hollis and later Cooper Electronics, specializing in packaging electronics equipment, grew to become a world leader in the electronics industry with sales in excess of 200 million dollars. In 1988 Mr. Papoutsy divested himself of his holdings of Cooper Electronics, subsequently becoming a partner in a major Boston Venture Capital Company. A major philanthropist, he then formed a number of charitable foundations and recently endowed a chair in Ethics at Southern New Hampshire University.

For his accomplishments, Papoutsy has received many awards, including Citizen of the Year Award, New Hampshire Patron of the Arts Award, E-Award “Excellence in Exporting”, Pericles Award, Medal of St. Paul, Arete Award from The Greek Institute of Boston, and Honorary Doctor of Law Degree from New Hampshire College (Southern New Hampshire University).

As a speaker, Papoutsy prefers to participate with his audience as much as possible. His Dynamic multi-media presentations provide students, faculty and management executives with a real world perspective calling upon real life internal business experiences.

Mr. Papoutsy has lectured at the University of New Hampshire, The Whittemore School of Business & Economics, Daniel Webster College, New Hampshire College, The NH Women’s Business Center, The NH Trial Bar Association, The Palmer Venture Capital Group (Boston, MA), as well as numerous international forums in Europe and Asia.

The Christos and Mary Papoutsy Foundation is pleased to announce that a new collection of presentations, focusing on business ethics and corporate social responsibility will launch its season of free public service lectures. Offered by Christos Papoutsy, an ethicist, author, and former business executive in the electronics industry, these new lectures address contemporary issues in the business arena.

Equally suitable for small classrooms or larger audiences, this new collection of lectures will run from 45-60 minutes. Using a combination of mastery-style delivery with powerpoint presentation and question-and-answer techniques, Mr. Papoutsy shares his extensive real-world experiences. His unique background enables him to blend business theory with practice, while offering clarifying insight about the decision-making process among business administrators and entrepreneurs. Moreover, his experience in developing and delivering an award-winning series of free seminars for women entrepreneurs in New England has earned him a solid reputation for reaching across age, gender, and ethnicity barriers to democratize the field of business.

THE FOUNDATION IN ETHICS AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY



The Foundation in Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility was established to promote and enhance awareness of ethics in personal and professional settings for students and community audiences. Through teaching, community lectures, and conferences, all audiences will be assisted in understanding and applying lessons taught by current and classical ethicists to twentieth century settings. Special emphasis will be placed upon the works of ancient Greek writers and intellectuals whose teachings have shaped the history of Western civilization from antiquity until the present.
