Greek Institute of Cambridge Announces Lecture by Author Christos Papoutsy:
'Ola gia ta paideia--Everything for the Children'





The Institute is pleased to invite friends and members of the public to a talk and book presentation - "ΟΛΑ ΓΙΑ ΤΑ ΠΑΙΔΙΑ - EVERYTHING FOR THE CHILDREN - At the Expense of Whom" by Christos Papoutsy, author, lecturer, businessman and philanthropist, on Monday evening, Novembe 3 at 7pm. Mr. Papoutsy will take a close look at the dynamics of the traditional Greek family and especially the role of the mother and its psychological implications. Books will be available.

Mr. Papoutsy truly embodies the spirit of the Renaissance man and Hellene. A second generation Greek American, he was born in Haverhill, MA. HIs father was born in Vatousa, Lesvos (Mytilene), Greece, and his mother's family was from Asvestochori at the outskirts of Thessaloniki. He is a successful business executive, semi-retired now, after a thirty-five year career, leading thousands of employees world-wide and developing his company into a global leader in the electronics industry.

He is a business graduate of Southern New Hampshire University from which he received an Honorary Doctor of laws egree. A life long learner, he has continued his studies in those areas of special interest to him - the Greek language, ethics and law, mediation, and psychology, often attending classes at the Harvard Extension School. He is an active philanthropist in his community and internationally. He is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Order of St, Andrew the Apostle, among other awards and distinctions. He launched the Hellenic Communications Service (www.helleniccomserve.com) a non profit news and information service for the Greek communities. He with his wife, Mary, founded the Christos and Mary Papoutsy Chair in Ethics at Southren New HAmpshire Uniberisty. He is a musican! who plays santouri, drums and guitar.
