Holy Theological School of Halki: Ecumenical Patriarchate of Orthodox Christianity Under Siege--Book Signing and Presentation Schedule

Author's Presentation:

Using a combination of imagery from his book and unpublished research, author Chris Papoutsy discusses this new volume about the Holy Theological School of Halki in a 45-minute power-point presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session.

The author outlines major history of the Theological School, emphasizing its closure in the 70's by the Turkish government. It is just another step in a lengthy list of discriminatory actions targeting Orthodox Christians. Papoutsy discusses reports of international watchdog groups, Turkish views, and the merits of legal analyses of the Patriarchate's situation.
